Hey everyone, since there is no new podcast this week, I decided to go over the Top 5 Most Common Business Challenges that I see even experienced business owners in the world of high intensity training go through, as well as pointing you to some great resources to help you solve these issues effectively.
The most common challenges I’ve noted are:
- How do I get more leads?
- How do I convert more sales?
- How do I retain clients?
- How do I attract and retain excellent trainers?
- How do I get focused and stop feeling so overwhelmed?
Let’s get right to it.
How do I get more leads?
You want to generate lots of leads consistently on autopilot.
The problem is that your campaigns don’t work, which makes you feel disappointed and baffled.
It shouldn’t be so difficult to drive leads into your business.
In Episode 145, Luke Carlson shows you how to differentiate your business in your marketing and deploy powerful marketing tactics to generate lots of leads.
Moreover, Luke explains the need for more focus on other aspects of your business like retention and operations, which will obviate the necessity for high investment in both internal and external marketing campaigns.
Once you have your fundamentals in place, get more marketing tactics in Episode 179 with Josh Jarrett and Episode 268 with Jeff Tomaszewski.
How do I convert more sales?
You want every free consultation to convert, but you notice that some prospects won’t commit during the appointment and don’t respond to your follow ups.
There’s little point generating lots of leads if people slip through the cracks and you don’t convert sales.
What you need is a powerful sales process.
A powerful sales process is one that builds rapport, makes the client the hero of the story, focuses on their needs, shows them how you solve their problems, and asks for the sale.
The high intensity training experience gives you a huge advantage during your sales process: the intensity and post-workout feel is like nothing else. This is why optimising the initial workout and surrounding it with thoughtful consultation is the key to increasing your sales.
In Episode 310 I give you the ultimate sales process to import into your business.
How do I retain more clients?
Wouldn’t it be great if you could retain every client for life?
Retention is deeply misunderstood in high intensity training. Most owners don’t measure it and/or don’t know how to measure it.
Just because you have a client stay for 22 years does not mean you have good retention across the board.
If you don’t have good retention, the likely problem is that you don’t have proactive or reactive systems in place to keep clients.
As per Episode 145, retaining clients is the key to generating maximum revenue. By retaining clients, you are retaining revenue, increasing upsell opportunities, and maximising the opportunity for referrals.
In Episode 286, Rock Solid Fitness, Co-Owner, Patty Durrell, generously shares their highly effective proactive retention process to help you hold on to clients and generate referrals.
How do I attract and retain excellent trainers?
Of course you want an army of incredible HIT experts on your staff! The problem is that’s it’s nigh impossible to find that perfect HIT convert since our niche is so small and the fitness industry so lost.
You’re frustrated to keep having to try and train someone in HIT, when they’re already indoctrinated in traditional exercise dogma.
This is a really common problem for HIT business owners, and that’s why Luke Carlson and I created Episode 215 and Episode 220 to show you how to Attract and Retain Excellent Trainers.
Luke Carlson has been successful in attracting and retaining excellent trainers at Discover Strength. Interestingly, these trainers do not have a HIT background!
Discover Strength deploy a unique hiring process along with a comprehensive trainer development plan to qualify the best candidates and help them realise their full potential.
How do I get focused and stop feeling so overwhelmed?
You want to feel focused and free so you can enjoy growing your business and tackle obstacles with calm and poise.
The problem is that your business is chaotic — you don’t have systems to run processes efficiently and you don’t know your goals and priorities.
How do you know where to steer if you don’t have a destination?
In Episode 170 and Episode 292, Luke Carlson describes exactly how to prioritise your tasks, separate the wheat from the chaff, delegate actions, and drive growth.
An excellent way to set and, more importantly, achieve goals in your business is to use a proven system called EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) popularised by the book, Traction.
Discover Strength have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in consultants to help implement EOS, which has rocketed their business growth.
I collaborated with Discover Strength CEO, Luke Carlson, to build a course on exactly how to implement EOS in your high intensity training business.
If you are interested in accessing the course (The Traction Series), as well as, exclusive HIT business content, HIT business community, monthly Q&As with experts and private coaching, please join HIT Business Membership.
