What’s it like to run a fitness business on autopilot? Could you do the same?
Dr. Doug McGuff – co-author of the High-Intensity Training cornerstone Body by Science – and founder of Ultimate Exercise returns to the podcast to talk about what it’s like to run a fitness business without being there all the time — how do you get to that stage?
Is that really the dream, or could it possibly turn into a nightmare?
We dive deep into how he runs UE (and the key business lessons you can take away from it), crafting great client experiences, how so many people misunderstand hypertrophy, maximizing stimulus and recovery for optimal results, understanding the nuances and risks of steroid/PED use, practical strategies for thriving in the fitness industry, and more!

Can’t wait to listen. Some in the hot community are jumping on TRT bandwagon.
Many health claims to this. I remain skeptical and still feels like cheating to me.
I like your comment Richard. I have been gradually whittling away more and more at the stuff that seems potentially harmful. It is funny how I have went backwards with some of those things.
I greatly enjoyed the deep dive into the why’s and complexities of hypertrophy. The two recent videos from Doug’s YouTube channel that are posted with the podcast are excellent as well. All this, in my opinion, is a an extremely freeing plethora of information. I am soon to be 47 and have done strength training off and on since I was a kid. I have been quite fortunate during that time, not sustaining any major injuries doing things I wouldn’t attempt now. I have been making my way more and more towards very conservative “boring to watch” exercise for quite some time. The enhanced feeling of well being is simply amazing, at least for me. The deep dive into the various growth governors, efficiency of Mother Nature, etc., Doug talks about in his channel videos and the podcast are most motivating and interesting.
